 If Barbie was an actual woman, she would be 5’9” tall, have a 39” bust, an 18” waist, 33” hips and a size 3 shoe.

• Barbie calls this a “full figure” and likes her weight at 110 lbs.

• At 5’9” tall and weighing 110 lbs, Barbie would have a BMI of 16.24 and fit the weight criteria for anorexia. She likely would not menstruate.

• If Barbie was a real woman, she’d have to walk on all fours due to her proportions.

 • Slumber Party Barbie was introduced in 1965 and came with a bathroom scale permanently set at 110 lbs with a book entitled “How to Lose Weight” with directions inside stating simply “Don’t eat.”

The weirdness that I’m 5’9” and I’m none of these qualities. Guess I should be.I hate society.

I’ll probably get a lot of hate for this, but it needs to be said.

It’s a fuckin’ TOY. I mean, sure, we can go about blaming a women’s misconception about how her body should look because she played with barbies, but that’s just lazy. I was raised with toys as well. I played with Spider-man, Power Rangers, Batman, etc. all of which had crazy proportioned muscles or the like, but I’m not trying to look like that and do you want to know why? Because I understood that they were TOYs, not a manual/guideline for how adult males should look. The problem isn’t Barbie; after all, you don’t see little girls wanting bigger heads because of their Bratz dolls. Parents not wanting to take the time to actually raise their children and to teach their daughter that a TOY is, by no means, a guideline for how adult women should look, is the problem.

I’m not in anyway trying to insult anyone, I’m just trying to move this misguided focus and damnation of a TOY when the problem is much more real than that.

Just my two cents.
